Then comes Snæfellsjökull National Park: the volcano that inspired Jules Verne's Journey to the Centre of the Earth, the narrow Rauðfeldsgjá gorge you can step into, and the Gatklettur sea arch at Arnarstapi.At Djúpalónssandur, black pebbles, the rusting remains of a shipwreck and the old fishermen's lifting stones fill a sheltered cove.
