This 3-day safari takes you to Akagera National Park in Rwanda for game drives and a boat ride on Lake Ihema, with opportunities to see giraffes, buffaloes, topis, elephants, zebras, and more, along with great views toward Tanzania. The park recently welcomed 20 eastern black rhinos (Diceros bicornis michaeli), a critically endangered subspecies reintroduced to Akagera's savannas.On Day 1, your driver/guide meets you for a briefing, then you proceed on a 2-hour drive to the park to catch a morning game drive and a boat ride on Lake Ihema, with lunch, dinner, and accommodation at your preferred lodge. On Day 2, you wake at 6:00 am, have breakfast at 6:30 am, and grab a packed lunch and bottled water for a full-day game drive north of the park via the famous Mutumba hill, where elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and topis are must-sees, along with 11 species of antelopes such as cape elands, roan antelopes, reedbucks, oribis, common duikers, sitatungas, and impalas, set among acacia trees and wooded and open savannah grasslands.On Day 3, you wake for an early breakfast around 6:30 am, check out, and start another game drive at exactly 7:00 am before proceeding to Kigali or your preferred drop-off point.
