Pula Self-Guided Detective Murder Mystery Game
In Pula the case starts at the Roman Theater, on the slope above the centre, and from there the trail drops into the streets below. What follows is a walk with a problem attached: a self-guided murder mystery game played across the old town of Pula, using your phone and your own two feet. Nothing is staged and nobody is waiting for you at any point along the way.The centre is compact and the ground rises and falls a little, so there is some gentle up and down, but nothing hard. It suits families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues, and a single player manages fine. One ticket covers a team of up to four sharing a phone, and a larger group takes extra tickets and splits, which keeps everyone involved instead of trailing behind one screen. No guide comes along and no start time is set.How to playStarting is a matter of four steps.Book the City GameCheck the instructions emailDownload the Loquiz appStart playing whenever you likeThe case is the murder of Balthasar. You break codes, take photographs where the game asks for them, and listen to digital characters whose statements gradually stop matching each other. The trail runs through the older streets and back up towards the theatre where it began, and every answer you get right takes another name off the list of suspects. With several teams out at the same time it becomes a race, which is why it is used for teambuilding as much as for a day out. Stop when you feel like it, start again when you are ready, and settle the case in Pula.
